J'ai acheté ce livre surtout pour les illustrations, absolument superbes. Les livres Taschen sont des petits bijoux, et très accessibles financièrement dans ce format.
I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend in her 1st year of medical school. She LOVES it. While this is not an academic reference book for a current student, she confirmed that the pictures are very accurate and useful. The hand drawn pictures are gorgeous.Note: The book is roughly 8x6x2in. It could be a good coffee table book, but may be on the small side.
Wow, this book is really beautiful. It is thick and solid and the pages are heavy and good quality. And oh my, the pictures are AMAZING. I purchased the Atlas of Human Anatomy and Surgery for my ER nurse husband as a birthday present and we can't stop looking at it. The information is so interesting, the diagrams are so precise and colorful; it's really surprising it isn't far more expensive.If you have a friend in the medical field I think this is a great gift option.
Beautifully illustrated!! Came in on time, would of gave it 5 stars if it wasn't dinged a little (ordered it brand new too) but other than that the pages are in perfect shape! Good look through if you're into this stuff, highly recommend it
The art and visuals in this book are superb. Also interesting to see the surgery techniques. The book is not a large volume and may not be well suited for the coffee table. Regardless, we keep it on a bookcase near the living room and our guests seem drawn to it. We've caught a few thumbing through it looking enthralled.
One of a high quality, compact low price line of hardcover books that was given as a gift to my son, a doctor. He was very pleased with this historical reprint.
